With the Covid 19 Virus still going strong and our country as well as other countries around the world still LOCKDOWN we are unfortunately not able to host our normal events. We are hoping that things will change at about September. In the mean time we have to keep things going and come up with some innovative ideas seeing that there are so many virtual runs to choose from.
The Big #5 Lockdown Run will be our 5th event in the Lockdown series. We went from running 12 day’s in and around your house to running a time “staggered” event at the Hawequa Scout farm. This time around we have upped our challenge a bit by creating THE BIG #5. Seeing that you are allowed to travel to venues with trails and then run on your own time I created a challenge that will hopefully push you to your limits if you are used to doing the not so difficult trails. Although the 5 trails are challenging even myself was able to walk it.
With the month of August having 5 weekends what better way to spend them by taking a ride out to trails with amazing views of the Boland region. At most of these trails there is a spot where you can do a nice 360 degree shot of the view that you have. My suggestion is to make it a family day out. Let the not so fit do the Small #5 Lockdown Run while you are doing the Big #5 route.
Some of the venues like Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve have a small permit fee of R50. I have kept the entry fee low to give most of you the opportunity to run. If you can’t do all of them at least do one of them.
It you enter all 5 you will be able to do a COMBO deal and get R50 discount!!
NB: Permits for Val Du Charron and the Hawequa Scout Farm must be paid with your entry. The permit at Mont Rochelle must be bought at the gate at the Nature reserve.
Please note that it is not called The Big #5 for no reason. Go to the following links provide to read up about the different routes and what you need to know before you do the trail.

The route maps will be available on our website at https://onsite-events.co.za/ and on our Facebook page.
Runners that are not able to go to these venues to enjoy the trails can do any trails in and around your region. You can even do a 5km or 10km in your neighborhood once a week for 5 weeks.
Please join our Strava Club at Run The Vines Lockdown Run Club. Your Strava times can then be posted on your online entry after your run by going back into the entry and completing the requested info.
No prizes. Just lucky draws. Lucky draw will take place live on Facebook at 7pm on Sunday evening the 30th of August.
I will be doing a live broadcast from each of these venues at 8am every Saturday morning in the order as above. Maybe I will see some of you on the trails.
Up for grabs are – Wine. Dirt Adict Hampers, Camelthorn Craft Beer Hamper, Jumbo Brands Hampers, Rapid Energy Hampers and lots more.
