My town lockdown run.

Run and Ride The Vines are Trail Runs and MTB events that take place in and around the Boland, Breeriver, and Worcester region in the Western Cape.

With the Covid 19 Virus that forced our country as well as other countries around the world into LOCKDOWN, we are unfortunately not able to host our events.

With the success of our 1st and 2nd virtual run and the fact that we will not be able to host our events for the foreseeable future, I have decided to host our 3rd event during the lockdown. The fact that we can now run outside our property and visit trails, it allowed me to ad longer distances as well as actual routes in your town or nearby farms.

This time around the event will take place over a  3 week period to give you the opportunity to run at as many of these farms and towns as you like and also to give you the opportunity to improve your time on a specific route if you are not able to travel. Runners will still be able to do shorter distances as they wish but the main event will be the following:

Lockdown Run

1km Fun Run/Walk  –  3 Weeks  –  Try to improve your time on the same route every day or as many times as you can.

5km Trail or Road  –  3 Weeks   – Try to improve your time on the same route every day or as many times as you can. Challenge yourself to do as many of the routes as you can.

10km Trail or Road – 3 Weeks – Try to improve your time on the same route every day or as many times as you can. Challenge yourself to do as many of the routes as you can.

You can also do a 15km, 20km, 25km. You can actually run as far as you want to!!! Just run.

We will have a Strava competition for the person that does the most km’s over the 3 week period, so make sure that you join the Strava group.  Search for the Run The Vines Lockdown Run Club and join.

No prizes. Just lucky draws. A lucky draw will take place live on Facebook at 7 pm on Saturday evening on the 18th of July.

Up for grabs are  –  Wine. Dirt Addict Hamper, Camelthorn Craft Beer Hamper, 6 Cases of Camelthorn beer, Weekend away for 2 at the Kambati Breakaway Weekend including meals at the end of August.

Courier cost for medal and clothing merchandise in South Africa –  R100.(Items will be couriered with Postnet) or R50 (Items will be couriered with Paxi to your nearest Pep Stores.  Please ad the branch number of the Pepstores that you would like us to send the parcel to. You can find this number at Paxi.com)

The courier cost for the wine bottle will be extra as it will change depending on where you stay. This amount will be discussed with you when you order it online.

If you entered the 1st and 2nd Lockdown Run you will receive a free Run The Vines / Dirt Addict Head Gear if you enter this event.

You are again able to make a donation for the workers that always help at my events. I am sure that they also need it and will appreciate it.

Take note:

·It is an untimed FUN event. Anybody can enter. You can do shorter distances if you are not up to the suggested distances.

·You only pay R100 p/p to participate and to stand a chance to win lucky draw prizes.. You do not pay R100 for every day that you participate.

·Day 1 (The Start) is on Monday the 29th of June  2020.

·You can start at any time.

·You can run as far as you want.

·You do not have to send me proof of your distances. I trust you. You can however join us on Strava.
